Welcome to my academic webpage!
I am Jane Iversen, a Ph.D. Candidate in Operations Management at The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, with an expected graduation date of May 2025. My research interests lie in the field of healthcare operations, where I focus on the impact of emerging technologies—particularly telemedicine—on patient outcomes and provider well-being. My dissertation investigates the operational effects of virtual visit adoption in healthcare, evaluating the implications from both patient and provider perspectives, contributing to a growing body of literature in healthcare operations.
I hold an MBA in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Florida International University. During my MBA program, I undertook various international projects, including a collaboration with the African Development Bank in Tunis, Tunisia, where I developed business models aimed at supporting local entrepreneurs and addressing unemployment. These experiences shaped my passion for operations and the role they play in solving real-world challenges.
Before pursuing my Ph.D., I worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During my time there, I worked closely with the Business Operations Group, developing my interest in designing processes to address challenges in healthcare—ultimately driving my decision to specialize in healthcare operations for my doctoral research.
In addition to my research, I have served as a full-time instructor and teaching assistant for various courses, including Operations Management, Business Statistics, and Service Operations. I am committed to fostering inclusive, dynamic learning environments and integrating my research into the classroom to provide students with real-world applications of operational strategies.
Outside of academia, I bring a global perspective to my work, having lived and worked across multiple countries, including Russia, Norway, Tunisia, England and the United States. I am fluent in English, Russian, and Norwegian, and I continuously strive to bridge cross-cultural insights with my academic expertise.
